Books are just the beginning.

Hey there! My name is Lindsay and I’m the creator of KidLit Grove - a space that gives educators and parents the tools to nurture a love of reading by helping kids linger in their favorite stories a little while longer.

Who am I to offer you resources?

For 15 years, books have not only been the cornerstone of my lessons but also a trusted guide through my own kids’ developmental milestones. I’ve been an outdoor educator, science teacher, Tinkergarten Leader, MOPS Coordinator (now MomCo), and Montessori guide.

And all my programs and lessons began with a book.

Here’s what you can expect at KidLit Grove:

Parents and Caregivers, you’ll discover content that supports your toddlers and preschoolers’ development with hands-on learning and discovery through:

  • Themed book recommendations - curated lists of children’s books focused on meaningful themes.

  • Invitations to play - accessible challenges inspired by the book recs list that support early childhood development. These challenges invite your little ones to explore stories through movement, exploration, and creative problem-solving.

  • Recipes and crafts - simple, kid-tested recipes and crafts that encourage children to step into their books through sensory exploration, building fine motor skills, and trying new tastes and textures.

Educators, you’ll discover key themes and concepts come to life from treasured classics and new releases with:

  • Project-based learning units - in-depth inquiry into a driving question related to a book over the course of several weeks. These units are primarily student-led with educators serving as guides, and would feature opportunities for real-world applications and key concepts children need to understand.

…and a smattering of:

  • Book-themed learning challenges - pairing a children’s book with interdisciplinary curriculum that builds on key themes and concepts within the story, all in a ready-to-go lesson.

  • Analysis of mentor texts - in depth studies into the elements that make a book a story.

  • Book club support - resources that guide educators as they read and discuss children's books with their students. Resources could feature discussion points, and expert insights from authors or illustrators.

And because I’m raising three little ones myself, you’ll find thoughtful reflections sprinkled in - on my role as a parent, my journey as a writer, and the struggle (keeping it real!) to balance both.
